I have had the great pleasure of conserving and restoring images on paper for thirty-seven years. My work includes fine original prints, antiquarian bookplates, documents and certificates, ink, chalk, pencil and conte drawings, and a variety of ephemera such as autographs, calendars and baseball cards.
I utilize the traditional Japanese technique of backing fragile or damaged pieces onto Japanese paper with wheat starch paste, often called scroll mounting.
I also complete Don's painting restoration treatments by replacing the lost/damaged pigment, a technique called inpainting.
In order to better educate picture framers and print collectors about prints, I wrote the book
500 Years of Graphic Art Techniques.
