Art Conservation Services

Don Pierce and Kristin Anderson specialize in
the restoration & conservation of paintings &
art on paper. In 1959 Don began working with
Joseph V. Toschi at the Fine Arts Gallery in
San Francisco where they worked for private
collectors, museums and other prominent
galleries. Kris joined Don in 1972 with a
degree in fine art. In 1975 the restoration
studio was relocated to San Rafael where
Don and Kris continued the tradition of art
restoration and fine framing as Art & Frame
Service. Don and Kris have continually been
active in the development of standards for
art care and conservation education through
writing and teaching seminars not only in the
US but around the world. Don served as
president of the national Professional Picture
Framers Assoc. (PPFA) in 1980-81 and
participated in ASTM and TAPPI committees.
In 1994 Don and Kris founded and voluntarily
directed the nonprofit organization FACTS
(Fine Art Care & Treatment Standards,
www.artfacts.org). Kris authored the popular
book 500 Years of Graphic Art Techniques to
help explain the history and methods of
printmaking.
In 2001 Don & Kris relocated to White Oak
Farm in the beautiful Willamette Valley where
they continue to provide expert art
restoration in their studio near Eugene.

throughout the US. Although our private clients are
